Integrating sustainability and urban conservation principles with considerations to the adaptability and maintainability of buildings right at the design stage play a vital role in promoting the “sustainable urban regeneration of existing cities, as well as the sustainable adaptation of future cities”. It is the hope of adaptSTAR LAB to encourage mutual understanding among design professionals, their clients and the communities they serve – to take on the role of ‘sustainability and adaptation warriors’ by safeguarding mother Earth with its culture, heritage and the quality of the natural and built environment for future generations to enjoy and admire.
